Vastint is in the process of further professionalizing its central IT environment. In this context they are looking for a Network Engineer.
As a Network Engineer you are strong in both day-to-day network management and innovative project work. You play a crucial role in the stability, availability and security of our network environment while actively contributing to challenging projects.
As a Network Engineer, you will contribute to the management and development of a future-proof IT infrastructure. You will work in an environment that is in a state of flux.
What are you going to do?
As a Network Engineer you will work on Vastint’s network infrastructure. It is through your efforts that our network is always running stable and secure. Whether it concerns routers, switches, firewalls or VPNs, you monitor, maintain and optimize everything to stay ahead of problems. When disruptions do occur, you resolve them and ensure that such problems are prevented in the future. And you ensure that all relevant information is well documented and recorded.
In addition, you are closely involved in various IT projects that push the boundaries of innovation. We are working on upgrading our equipment and preparing our infrastructure for the future. You ensure that these large-scale changes run smoothly, and you actively contribute to the design and implementation of new network solutions.
In addition to project work, you ensure that our systems are always up-to-date and optimally secured. You regularly perform software updates and patches and closely monitor network performance. You report any bottlenecks and areas for improvement in a timely manner, so that we can continue to optimize.
Within the organization, you and a colleague network engineer of a sister company are the point of contact for network-related questions. Your communication skills ensure that technical information is conveyed clearly and understandably to (non-technical) colleagues and partners.
You work closely with your colleague network engineer of a sister company and are part of team IT Operations.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Good understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, Routing, etc.).
- Relevant Aruba certifications (e.g., Aruba Certified Mobility Associate – ACMA, Aruba Certified Switching Associate – ACS) are a plus.
- Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques.
- willing to travel
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Aruba networking hardware and software is highly desirable
- Experience with scripting or automation tools is beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls.
